Citroën SM, De Diva
During the eighty years Citroën is active on the market of creating cars,
they often surprised the market with innovative, creative and arty car design.
The Citroën SM with V6 Maserati engine became known in Holland by soccer
player Johan Cruyff who chose the SM in 1972 as his car for daily use.
The SM belongs to the most exotic of all cars: she is beautiful shaped, exiting,
challenging, seductive and sometimes unreliable. To be short: a true Diva. Citroën
SM, de Diva is an exceptional car book. It reviews and shows the current time
and past of one of the most beautiful and expensive designs of Citroën.
The book approaches the car in a very special way: critical, admirable and especially
with feeling for emotions which come up with sportive and luxurious cars like
the SM.
The SM is being placed back into the seventies. Many interviews, also with the
designer of the SM, Robert Opron, show the development and position of the Grand
Tourism car in a fast changing world.
It's an unusual car book because, apart from many facts, it shows the fantasy
everybody has about "Sa Majesté". Very nice drawings of Bastiaan
and Martijn Kok show the design of the SM. Robert Opron exclusively sketched
a successor for his legendary creation.
